How to: Mark all as Read on your iphone and ipad mail app
While out with some friends, last night, I noticed most of my friends, that normally would have a blackberry, now had iphones. Yikes. talk about jumping ship and abandoning a platform. I didn’t think anything of it at the time until i downloaded the new gmail app from IOS and realized the most powerful feature in mail is omitted still,“Mark all as read.”
Don’t ask how i made the connection my mind works funny…lol. I don’t know if its just me but i hate to see unread indicators on my phone or outlook for that matter.YES, I STILL USE OUTLOOK AND I LOVE IT. I am a techy and I just do not like gmail’s web client for mail and for that matter i also hate Apples mail client.
Blackberry has the most powerful mail app , for a mobile device, to this day. Nothing compares to it. Not Sparrow app (recently acquired by google), not the gmail app, not the native ios mail app, nothing!
Looks like i went off on a tangent. Anywhoo you are here for instructions on
how to mark all as read on your iphone & ipad mail app.
Well life hacker did an amazing job and yes there is video for you lazy bums. The article was titled. drum roll please ……..
“How to Mark All Emails as Read on Your iPhone”
The trick is pretty simple and consists of the following steps:
- Open up the Mail app and tap the Edit button.
- Select one message.
- Press and hold the Mark button at the bottom of the screen.
- While still pressing and holding the Mark button, tap the email you previously selected to unmark it.
- Release the Mark button.
- Tap the Mark as Read button.
Doing this confuses Mail because no messages are selected. Because it apparently interprets nothing as everything, it’ll mark all your messages as read without the tedious task of selecting each one individually.
